“A Dickens of a Weekend” in Chestnut Hill

This weekend the streets of Chestnut Hill will be transformed into a storybook scene from the Christmas holiday’s most famous author – Charles Dickens.

Check out “A Dickens of a Weekend” this Saturday and Sunday, December 8 &9, where characters from right off the pages of Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol will retell the popular story.

Enjoy the Victorian celebration complete with carolers, holiday shopping, dining, and drinks to get you in the holiday spirit.

I can’t imagine a more perfect setting to immerse yourself in the classic tale.  Chestnut Hill’s cobblestone streets are steeped in a history that you can feel oozing out of every crack.  It’s one of my family’s favorite places to go for an afternoon.  Plus, the warm weather expected to last through the weekend makes this event even more appealing.

And who’s done their Christmas shopping?  Not me, that’s for sure.  I’m hoping a peek inside some of the town’s unique shops reveals some of the hidden treasures I’ve been searching for.
