Ford Recalls 140,000+ 2012 Focuses

The Ford Motor company is recalling more than 140,000 of it’s Focus 2012 models, according to AutomotiveNews.com. The recall is in response to a mechanical issue that allows water to seep into the motor of the passenger side windshield wiper, causing the motor to short circuit and then fail completely.

While the recall seems tame in comparison to other issues that may cause automobile fires like some of the other issues that have plagued major car makers, a failed windshield wiper can lead to dangerous situations and may cause a crash.

According to AutomotiveNews.com, owners of 2012 Focuses will  be informed of the issue and how to deal with it in a letter to be sent out May 21.
